G. Naveen Balaji, S. Chenthur Pandian, J. Geetha Ramani, B. Sivasankari, M. Srinivasaperumal

Abstract: BACKGROUND: A classical approach is reconsidered for minimizing the delay on dealing with transmission-gate-based master-slave (TGMS) digital circuits. OBJECTIVE: To improve the performance of digital circuits using TGMS (125nm technology) method. RESULTS: The circuits that are split into two sections are separately optimized and on reconciling the design emerging assuming FFs continuous path outperforms the one resulting from employment of a classical logical effort procedure. In order to validate the correctness of such a procedure and underlying assumptions simulations are performed on several well-known TGMS circuits, designed in a 125-nm technology. CONCLUSION: This approach allows to correctly deal in such circuits with actual path effort showing significant improvements on delay, energy and area occupation and to achieve energy efficiency in high speed region, the design is to be properly steered

Multiple Fault Detection and Classification In Power System

Dr. Afaneen A. Alkhazraji and Rana A.Abttan

Abstract: Multiple Fault is a central component of more Abnormal Event Management in electric power systems. The main objective of multiple fault detection and classification satisfy high reliability degree to ensure continuity of supply of electric power as well as to reduce the time of separation of lines, reduce losses and consumer complaints. Detection and isolation of multiple faults in power systems is very important not only for service continuity but also for quality of power delivered. As an intermediate stage before fault location, fault classification is a crucial task in any reliable protective relay system This paper presents an approach for detection and classification for multiple fault in the electrical power system. Voltage and current measurement method is adapted in this work. Bus bar fault currents and voltages for different types of fault were detected and classified. All programs were written in MATLAB environment. The programs were test on IEEE- 11 bus bar network. The results clarified that the voltage and current measurement method is very effective for multiple fault detection and classification.

Evaluation of Relatively constant factors in Preparedness of Disaster Management in Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia

AL Garni A. Mohammad, Awadelkarim M. Ali, Alhijan A. Ahmad

Abstract: Depending on research debate, analysis and literature review, it is obvious to maintain that (risks analysis, awareness and training) are of great importance to evaluate preparedness to manage disasters and to deal with it. The study results approved that, the three factors evaluation standard is moderate, but risk analysis factor is first, followed by training and awareness factor comes at the last rank. Our study recommends that: (1) It's imperative to raise risks analysis standards, especially to determine probability degree and losses size. (2) Increment of training programs about preparedness to deal with disasters. (3) Permanent increment of awareness programs for disaster management staff. (4) Establishment of a new geological and climate centers and stations to oversee environmental situations and to forecast about potential risks before occurrence. (5) Encouragement and increment of professional studies in disasters management, especially preparedness stage which is considered the backbone of disaster management. (6) Recommend to make more studies and researches
about disaster management through support and encouragement to researchers.

Evaluation of Ascorbic Acid Contents in Selected Fruits using Iodometric method and UV Spectrophotometer

Adewole Ezekiel, Ojo Abiodun, Talabi Justina, Adewumi Funmilayo and Peters Omolara

Abstract: Background: Vitamin C being an essential vitamin in the body is important for physiological functions of the body and this cannot be synthesized in the body, hence the need for the intake of fruits as supplier of vitamin C in the body. There are many fruits available locally in Ado Ekiti, Nigeria and sufficient information are not available using the iodometric and Uv spectrophotomer methods in estimating the ascorbic acid contents simultaneously. Objective: The needs to quantify the ascorbic acid contents of five selected fruits using iodometric and Uv-spectrophotometer methods necessitated the research work and compare the results with the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA} Results: The results of the analysis using iodometric method indicated that the citrus limon had (34.53±0.08c mg/100g), vitis vinifera (15.35±0.01bmg/100g), malus pumila (11.51± 0.07a mg/100g), citrullus lanatus (11.51+0.01a mg/100g) and ananas comosus 11.51±0.05a mg/100g). The Uv spectrophotometer method indicated the values as malus pumila (19.19±0.48c mg/ml), citrus limon (18.09 ±0.29c mg/ml), ananas comosus (9.57+0.53b mg/ml), vitis vinifera (9.17±0.21b mg/ml), and citrullus lanatus (4.20 ± 0.07c mg/ml). The values obtained are in the range of Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) which is essential for the optimum functions of body growth and development. Conclusion: The iodometric and the Uv spectroscopy methods used for the analysis has shown the various contents of ascorbic acids in the five fruits. The results had shown that the fruits were rich in ascorbic acid and can adequately cater for any deficiency that may arise from lack of vitamin C.

Groundwater Quality Investigation of the Dammam Unconfined Aquifer, Umaid Area – Muthanna Governorate - Iraq

Moutaz A.Al-Dabbas, Yas K. Al-Ameri and Weam H. Kadhim

Abstract: Ground water is a vital source for all sectors, agricultural, irrigation sectors and rural communities. The global climate change is expect to change the hydrometeorological processes parameters and it is vital taking into account the groundwater quality investigation that may affect by the global climate change. The groundwater of Dammam unconfined aquifer in Umaid area, Muthanna Governorate, Iraq, was studied to identify the main hydrogeochemical processes and the groundwater–rock interaction. The results indicated that Ca2+and SO42- are the dominant ions in the groundwater. The average contribution of cations in the aquifer is Ca2+ (18.9 %), Na+(18.1%), K+(1.5%), and Mg2+ (11.5%) ; while anions contribution is SO42- (27.1%), Cl- (18.4%) and HCO3- (4.5%). The Groundwater characterized by neutral to slightly alkaline hard water, excessively mineralized, and slightly brackish water type. Rock-water interaction processes are identified to include dissolution of carbonates, sulfates, halite, and clay minerals, leaching, and cation exchanges, with little impact of evaporation. The studied groundwater is unsuitable for human drinking purposes, suitable to agricultural most of Fruit crops, vegetable and field crops and suitable for livestock.
